Kentucky Society for Directors of Volunteer Services
Workshop Description:
Innovation for Change, Growth, and Sustainability!
It’s a changing world. And, in times of change, organizations have a choice: endure change… or embrace it. In this workshop, we will explore how embracing change can help your organization not only survive, but thrive! Discover how piloting new engagement initiatives can help you nurture a culture of innovation and learning. Successful pilot projects such as new skills-based volunteer roles, volunteer-led programs, or new training protocols can help your organization test new ideas, engage new generations of volunteers, and increase efficiency and effectiveness within your healthcare facility.
In this workshop, we will set the stage by briefly exploring trends (including shifting generational volunteer patterns) and challenges in volunteer engagement. Then, we will delve into the power of innovation – sharing stories of successful volunteer pilot projects designed to engage new generations, build capacity, or enhance engagement at their organizations. Through a series of activities and group exercises, participants will have the chance to design their own pilot project. We will also share tools and resources on supporting pilot teams to success and on being an effective a change manager – especially leading staff-volunteer teams and multi-generational teams.
